Shawn & Marina Mitchell are the founding Co-Directors of Catalyst Project, formed in January, 2007. They met at Hope International University in Fullerton, CA, and were married in 1993. Shawn earned his degree in Biblical Studies / Church Growth, and Marina in Diversified General Studies & then post-graduate Teaching Credential from California State University in Fullerton. Shawn served as a Pastor in full-time Church Ministry & Administration for 13 years in Christian Churches of California, Washington, & Oregon. In addition to Catalyst, he works as Director of Operations for Northwest Christian Evangelistic Association, and as a licensed construction contractor. Marina taught 1-year of public 6th grade in California, followed by full-time motherhood. In 1999, she began a career in fitness, and now works part-time as a multiple-format instructor for Club Sport health club, several 24-Hour Fitness clubs, as well as occasional work at the Nike world headquarters a few miles away. The Mitchells live in Beaverton, Oregon, with their daughter McKenzie & son Sawyer.
Taft is the elder Mitchell, Shawn's beloved Papa. He served in full-time church ministry for over 40 years in Oregon and California before semi-retirement. Taft and his wife, Bobbie, met at Northwest Christian College in Eugene, OR, and were married in 1964. Taft earned his degree in Bible and Music from NCC, and then returned to school in the '90's for post-graduate Master of Ministry degree from Hope International University in Fullerton, CA. Taft & Bobbie live in Wilsonville, OR, and their lives are surrounded by adoring children, grandchildren, and their 5th-Wheel.
