'SAFE HAVEN' HOME FOR ABUSED WOMEN & CHILDREN
Beaverton: Feb.17--Mar.17
Please join us in helping a local Beaverton family transform their rental home into a 'Safe Haven' for abused women & children in our community. The family is planning to donate use of their home to the non-profit Domestic Violence Resource Center (www.dvrc-or.org) in a Grand Opening Dedication on March 18. We have been asked to help bring together volunteers and resources to pull it off. The South Beaverton Home Depot is helping...will you please join us too?
The home is structurally sound, but is not easy on the eyes...lots of repairs & improvements are needed: landscaping, power washing, pruning, & painting outside; repairs, insulation & sheetrock, cleaning, painting, & carpeting inside. This is an ambitious project with absolutely dozens of jobs that need to be completed in the next month. We have dedicated ourselves to helping them complete this wonderful, compassionate vision!

Here are the specific volunteer times & tasks:
Sat.-Mon., Feb.18-20 (President's Day Weekend)
• Inside: Repair & patch & spackle interior walls, remove staples from floors, general cleaning
• Outside: Landscaping, plant pruning & removal, fence repair, window replacement, framing
Sat.-Sun., Mar.3-4
• Inside: Replace 6 interior doors, front & back screen doors, install outbuilding insulation & sheetrock
• Outside: Scraping-priming-painting exterior trim & patio cover
Sat.-Sun., Mar.10-11
• Inside: Painting, carpet installation for house & outbuilding
• Outside: Patio cover roofing, general yard cleanup / dump run, misc. handyman repairs
Sat., Mar.17
• Inside: Install window blinds-screens, general cleaning, furniture deliveries-pickups, decorate
• Outside: Mow & edge lawns, general yard work
